Mr Cyriaco Kabagambe
Mr. Cyriaco Kabagambe, who is the Dean of Students of Makerere University since July 2010 to date, he holds an M.A .Ed.Mgt (Mak), BA (Hons) Mak, Dip.Ed. (Mak). He was also Dean of Students of Kyambogo University from 2003 to 2010. He has outstanding and distinguished experience in student affairs management especially in governance, student leadership and welfare administration, career guidance, discipline and networking.
For over 30 years, he has been involved in student affairs management (Teaching 11 years), Wardenship (8 years) and Deanship (15 years). He has accumulated core competences in team work, interpersonal and communication skills, administrative and leadership skills, valuing diversity, patience and willingness to listen, sharing and guidance, and negotiation skills. At both Kyambogo University and Makerere University, Mr. Kabagambe was an ex-officio member of the University Council and it’s committees, a member of the Senate and its committees and Head of students’ welfare department. As Dean of Students (2003 to date), he has provided leadership in games, sports and other recreational facilities, counselling and guidance services, spiritual nourishment and growth and enforced the University rules and regulations so as to enhance the discipline of students among other responsibilities.
Previously, Mr. Kabagambe worked as a Warden for Nsibirwa and University Halls at Makerere University (1997-2003), and at the former National College of Business Studies (1995-1997) during its transition to Makerere University Business School (MUBS). As a Secondary school teacher (1984-1995) at Butare S.S.S, Wanyange Girls S.S and St. Mary’s College Kisubi, he did not only teach but also served in various other capacities as Executive Committee member of Parents Teachers Association, Secretary to staff, head of department, house master, and UNEB examiner.
